Buller Relieved as Commander After October Dispatch

London October 22 Sir Redvers Buller has been relieved from command of the first army corps after his October 10 luncheon dispatch to Gen White at Ladysmith. He is placed on half pay and Gen French is appointed to succeed him.

Death of a Heavy Man in Bath Pennsylvania

J Daniel Reinhard, probably the heaviest man in Pennsylvania, died suddenly of heart disease at his Bath home aged about 70. Reinhard weighed 493 pounds, a figure reported last year. He was well known in Bath and the surrounding area for his size and physical presence.
