Deputy Coroner Porter presided on Tuesday and Wednesday, prompting remarks he may resign if called to hold another Thursday. Telegram from this place reports the death of Lucretia Mobley 22 at her home in Greenville after a lengthy pulmonary illness. Capt McCrory met the remains in Charlotte and took them to Blackstock for interment. Miss Mobley was a bridesmaid a year ago at J T Thomasson wedding.
County officials and prominent citizens postpone the Heath Springs Daughters of the Confederacy picnic planned for November 3, citing seasonal rescheduling. The move is signed by JA WeaNRR, chair.
