Death of Mr Amos VY McManus of Kershaw
Amos VY McManus of Kershaw died after a six week illness from fever at about 1 am. He was 28, left a widow and two children, and was a Baptist member esteemed by all. His remains were buried with Masonic honors at Kershaw. He held a $1000 life policy with Home Life of New York for his family. J J Blackmon traveled to Kershaw to attend the marriage of his sister Miss Emmie Hasseltine to Sidney Hinson last night.

Sheriff Arrests Will Allen for Murder in Union County
Sheriff Hunter arrested Will Allen a night fireman at the factory on a Union County North Carolina warrant charging him with murdering Charley Hesty in that county. Authorities say Allen shot Hesty in the leg in September of last year and Hesty died within a year. Sheriff Horn of Monroe accompanied the arrest and returned Allen.
