In Indianapolis on October 31 a collision between a Big Four passenger train and a coal freight engine near the city edge killed fifteen and injured over fifty. Millard Lee Hanged in Atlanta for Murder of Sweetheart
Millard Lee, a young white man, was hanged in Atlanta at 11 o clock for the May 25, 1902 murder of his sweetheart Miss Lilla Suttles at a rural church nine miles from the city. He had been respited six times by the Governor but yesterday the Chief Executive said no further interference. Lee spoke briefly, expressing desire to die to meet his victim in heaven.
