Vernon Watson Murdered by Neighbor in Rivoli
In Anderson County near Rivoli, Vernon Watson was killed by a neighbor identified as a negro. Watson confronted the suspect over a stolen pig, was shot twice, and died about an hour and a half later. The assailant was captured by deputies after a dogged pursuit and jailed, as was the wounded woman.
