Big farmers urged to cut cotton output in the South
Tom Wolding quotes Enid Me WO, with Clyburn of Lancaster County leading the push to reduce cotton. He notes tenants and croppers on his lands could yield 68 plans, with talks of selling two to three hundred bales at 10 cents. Clyburn, a New Orleans cotton convention attendee, argues production should drop to needed levels to help the South regain footing. He asks what other large farmers will do and calls for pledges to reduce.
