Spartanburg count y voters circulate a petition to order a dispensary election. The effort targets all precincts, backed by temperance supporters who expect enough signatures to trigger the vote law requires one fourth of qualified voters to sign.

A Bennettsville resident claims his wife suffered dyspepsia and a torpid liver before using the remedy, which restored her strength. In Hardin North Carolina on a public road Earl Carpenter 21 shot and killed A M Kale 35 after Kale fired first. Kale died immediately while Carpenter, unconscious and likely to die, was wounded by Kale. Both men prominent Guston county citizens. Kale had shot Carpenter before dying. Valo, superintendent of Nims Manufacturing at Mount Dolly, age about 35 recorded.
Austin reports a waterspout at Lufkin in Barnett county 40 miles above the city. Water surged in the river and surrounding creeks rising 14 feet in five minutes, trapping campers and drowning two. Stock swept away and hail fell for half an hour up to 112 inches, wrecking farmhouses.
A Chicago street car conductor was beaten in a labor riot and treated with Jen's Amica Salve, recovering quickly. G. J. Welch of Tekonsha Michigan endorses the salve as effective for cuts and burns, 25 cents at Crawford Bros J F Mackey Co and Funderburk Pharmacy.

Daniel Sully and Edwin Hardley Jr of Daniel Sully & Co., cotton, stock and grain brokers at 45 Exchange Place, obtained a discharge from bankruptcy in U S district court before Judge Adams. Firm liabilities about 4.6 million. nominal assets 4.119 million. Sully individual liabilities about 30 and assets 81540. No opposition appeared. Sully plans to boost cotton sales as England sells out and demand grows, with Manchuria opening as a factor.
