Cotton mill quarrel ends in double shooting in North Carolina

In Hardin North Carolina on a public road Earl Carpenter 21 shot and killed A M Kale 35 after Kale fired first. Kale died immediately while Carpenter, unconscious and likely to die, was wounded by Kale. Both men prominent Guston county citizens. Kale had shot Carpenter before dying. Valo, superintendent of Nims Manufacturing at Mount Dolly, age about 35 recorded.

Waterspout Destroys Campers as Texas Floods Rise

Austin reports a waterspout at Lufkin in Barnett county 40 miles above the city. Water surged in the river and surrounding creeks rising 14 feet in five minutes, trapping campers and drowning two. Stock swept away and hail fell for half an hour up to 112 inches, wrecking farmhouses.
