A man named George Owens is arrested near Oxceola South Carolina by W A Jorn and WW A Newman in Union and Chester counties. Police link the Seaboard Air Line No 41 wreck near Catawba Junction on September 9 last year to a track tampering scheme. Five people died and over 85 were injured when a bridge collapsed and an extra freight train struck debris. Investigators pursue connections between Owens and the wreck while he is jailed on a separate robbery warrant at Stouts. Owens withholds statements as detectives press for details.
