Marriage Annulled in Democratic Primary Case

A Spartanburg case heard before Judge Aldrich voids the marriage of Rev. Stephen A Nettles and Miss Fannie V. Littlejohn, solemnized June 25, 1899. Miss Littlejohn alleged mental incapacity from illness. after treatment her faculties returned and she refused ratification. Judge Aldrich ruled the contract void, not binding. Attorneys for plaintiff and defendant are named.

Trial of Powers Georgetown Ky Tests Jury as Overruled Plea

In Georgetown Kentucky Judge Cantril overruled a contingency motion in the Caleb Powers case and jury selection began. An extra venire of 100 citizens was ordered. six were accepted initially. Powers’ lawyers offered a pardon from ex Governor Taylor as bar, which the court rejected stating Taylor was not governor on March 10. The demurrer to the indictment was also overruled.
