A Spartanburg case heard before Judge Aldrich voids the marriage of Rev. Stephen A Nettles and Miss Fannie V. Littlejohn, solemnized June 25, 1899. Miss Littlejohn alleged mental incapacity from illness. after treatment her faculties returned and she refused ratification. Judge Aldrich ruled the contract void, not binding. Attorneys for plaintiff and defendant are named.
Renick Hamilton of West Jefferson Ohio endured 18 months with a rectal fistula. Doctors warned he would die without a costly operation. He cured himself using five boxes of Bucklen's Arnica Salve, touted as the world’s surest pile cure, at 25 cents a box. Crawford Bros' Druggist sold it.
Greenville officials and Theodore Evans of the county board rejected claims that a bribe was offered to sway a vote on a beer license for Mr Richardson. Delegates from multiple states filled the audience as President OC Consou and speakers from Pennsylvan ia Indiana and California responded. The meeting featured debates on a national university and the Indian problem, with attendance expected around 5 000 and departmental work starting tomorrow.

In Georgetown Kentucky Judge Cantril overruled a contingency motion in the Caleb Powers case and jury selection began. An extra venire of 100 citizens was ordered. six were accepted initially. Powers’ lawyers offered a pardon from ex Governor Taylor as bar, which the court rejected stating Taylor was not governor on March 10. The demurrer to the indictment was also overruled.
