The Ganson Cash Store advertises crowd drawing bargains with up to date stock. It touts new merchandise including Latin Stripe Lawes goods and a case of striped and plain fast color suckers at five cents. Other goods priced 10 to 15 cents are offered as fine values likely to sell quickly.
A Fine Shoes offers slippers and Oxford ties with new ladies misses and children's Sunday styles arriving. Multiple strap options available and prices claimed lower than elsewhere.
Ladies fine summer underwear now in stock including Misses and children's sizes. Plisse garments come in mastin and nansook with rich rims, embroidery and proper fit. Prices are very cheap at 95 cents, 50 cents, 75 cents, and 1.00.
An advertisement promotes men's shirts and shirt waists as ideal for hot weather. It claims new sample shirts and waists are available at 60, 35, 40, 50 and six vents per cent off, with original prices from 50 cents to $1.00.
Our Miss Evans' work charms town and entry as two stocks are sold and the third sells rapidly. Prices on williverty are lower than usual. A pretty banded sailor is offered at 20 cents.
Special to Greenville News reports Governor McSweeney condemning illicit whiskey sales in Columbia. He warns police in action or profits will be diverted, while Charleston raids draw scrutiny. State Board meets on the 16th to consider revelations about constables tied to blind tigers and possible withholdings of profits.
Baltimore editor Major Thomas W. Hall longtime journalist and legal writer for the Baltimore Sun died at his Ruxton residence. Born in Baltimore 18, he studied at Virginia, practiced law, edited the Baltimore Daily Exchange and The South, supported Confederate cause, served as a captain then major, fought in Georgia Tennessee and Wilma, and joined the Sun editorial staff in 1870 where his international and constitutional law articles were widely quoted.
Special to The State from Yorkville July 4 describes a glanders outbreak among horses and mules near York County towns. Affected animals from Sheriff Logan and Mr Love were ordered killed with stables burned. Dr Nesom of Clemson College examined stock, confirming glanders in at least one case and prompting further action to stamp out the disease.

It claims cures for coughs colds pneumonia hemorrhage pleurisy bronchitis and more and promises refunds if unsatisfied. Dr Charles Garnier tendered his resignation as pastor of the First Baptist church this morning after a special conference. The church reluctantly accepted the resignation, which takes effect September 15. The notice appears in the States Civeenvilla as part of special dispatches.
An odd ad notes Dr E Detconn's Ant diaries may be worth over $100 for buyers with a child. It mentions concerns about bedding, water incantations, and general care for all ages. J Mackey & Co, a Lanscauler druggist, is listed with a price of $1.
Health officer Dr. William Southerland reports Charbon outbreaks across Bolivar county with virulent anthrax destroying mules horses and swine. He notes the odor from carcasses hindering burial and fears human impact while seeking serum treatment and strict animal quarantine. Senator Moore confirms widespread stock losses in the infected area.
Mrs. Matthew Gilmore of Richmond, famed for riding through Federal lines to warn Col John S Mosby of an impending attack, saving the southern army, died tonight after ten minutes of illness. Daughter of the late Rev. Abraham Pollock, she was linked to the Lees and the Washingtons.
Special to The State from Laurens July 5. The body of Logan Dendy, a colored man, was found in the road near Durbin Creek church with the upper body and neck riddled by shot. The shooting appears deliberate with no clue to the killer.
