Men Act A Black Brute Paya the Pensity Wreck

In Arkanne City Kansas on Feb 16 early hour a mob of about seventy five led by city ministers attacked the Last Chance saloon. They wrecked liquor and fixtures under threats, forcing the barkeeper to witness the destruction. Saloons have been closed for days and threats target drug stores selling liquor. a mass meeting is planned for tomorrow to decide further action.

Special to The State via Telegraph to Greenville News Beaufort Feb 15 Thomas a negro convicted of assaulting Mere Douberly was executed there in May in the county yard. Mrs Douberly, visiting her parents near Hardeeville, was accosted in the woods by Thomas who followed her. A search party arrested him and four other negroes assisted. Thomas had earlier been tried in Beaufort circuit court and sentenced to hang. the Supreme Court denied a new trial. A separate incident reports Thrasher’s son riding home on Feb 7 when the mule bolted, throwing him and dragging him, causing fatal injuries. In St Paul Minnesota Alton R Dalrymple, a millionaire who owned Bonanza wheat farm, has died.

Killed While at Work in Bamberg Cotton Mill

Bamberg February 18 Bray Jones shot and killed Lige Norman in the slasher room of the Bamberg cotton mill. Both men employed in the mill Bray and Charles Jones confronted Norman and Bray fired three shots, killing him. Bray surrendered and is in jail. Charles at large likely to face accessory charges. Norman was found unarmed at work and his body was taken to his home for an inquest to be held tomorrow.

The Kans3as Crusaders Fire At Local Drug Store

The Kansas Crusaders yesterday attacked the drug store of Mayor Fred Diggest, son of Ure, but no liquor was sold and the store was not molested. Property destroyed valued at about $700, with mirrors and bar raising total to over $1,000. Mrs May and her hatchet were involved before being restrained by her husband who crossed the street to stop the attack.

Reports detail a double homicide near the Chattahoochee river in Atlanta, where Mrs. ELM. Wilson and WM Hamilton were found shot. a student identified as Hansom, obsessed with Wilson, is implicated. A forest fire followed by two major city fires devastates Rock Hill, destroying tenements and Hand Bros. store, with insurance covering most losses.
