Oscar Laws Attacks Self After Sentence in Court
Special to The Observer Statesville Feb 6 Oscar Laws a white man formerly of Jonesboro Tenn recently manager of the Mooresville telephone exchange attempted death by action in the Superior court room. On being sentenced to eight months on the county roads he drew a knife and stabbed his breast. He wrested the knife, then tried a razor but was checked. Des Goo Wo Long and Jo Carlton dressed the wound which was not serious.
