Special to The State Greenwood Dec 18 A Mississippi suicide linked to remorse over deserting his children is traced to J G Moss once of Greenwood who lived at the Greenwood cotton mill His wife Eugenia Shaffer of Saluda County died of typhoid in 1902 Moss later died by his own hand in Tupelo Miss His father in law moved to place Moss children in an orphanage and a note and burial instructions were found among his effects including 16 60 in cash and a suit of clothes for the burial The Connie Maxwell orphanage took the Moss children with the grandfather Syllus Moss of Saluda County acting on papers filed locally
