Reports from Columbia Connecticut items note a seizure at the express office by Chief Division Con stable AS Osborne and his men. About 200 half pints per barrel from North Carolina were taken to the State dispensary contraband room.
Special to News and Courier reports Miss Ida Massey aged about seventeen, daughter of Dr J E Massey, died at her home on Chatham Avenue in Rock Hill last night at 11 o clock.

The will and codicil of Mrs Jane L Stanford were proved and admitted to probate in San Jose California on March 31. The trust allocations include two million dollars to Ariel Lathrop and descendants of DS Lathrop and 81 million to her niece Jonnie Lawton Anya Hanson and Christine L Ganning's children. Other gifts include 125000 to CH generous institutions in San Francisco and San Jose and the trusts of Leland Stanford Jr University.

The remains of Miss Mildred Lee youngest daughter of Gen Robert E. Lee were placed in a crypt at the Lee mausoleum in Washington and Lee University. McBryde eight Washington and Lee University students served as pallbearers and VMI cadets escorted the remains to the mausoleum amid a large gathering of relatives and Confederate organizations sent elaborate floral tributes.
Atlanta March 29 Prominent New York cotton firms on bear and bull sides have sent representatives across the South to inspect what the Southern Cotton Association is doing and whether farmers are truly reducing acreage. Reports, sent to New York, indicate reductions will exceed 23 percent, far above the suggested 10 percent. The bulls led by Mr Sully urge farmers to unite and follow the association to avoid a price slump similar to December when cotton fell ten dollars per bale.

Charleston reports a man was arrested in Marion on suspicion of arson after an investigation by the comptroller general's office into a fire that damaged the market operated by H Hayes and the store of A L Campbell. The Columbia Record reports a $600 reward for the apprehension of W. E. Perry who killed Langdon L. Boozer at the Wytie mills near Chester on Monday. D L Boozer of Laurens, father of the victim, sought Gov Heyward’s help to offer a state reward. the governor issued a proclamation for $300, duplicated by the Boozer family.

Gov Heyward orders custody of the recently returned Confederate flags to the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The flags were placed in the Relic Room yesterday with Wade Hampton chapter women proud custodians of the banners.
Special to Greenville News reports that a new act increasing the fee for tax executions to one dollar, with Chesterfield County at 50 cents, is deemed unconstitutional as not uniform across counties. An attorney general opinion to the comptroller general notes the new salaries began February 22.
