Barn Fire Destroys Pemberton Barn on 3rd Street
Firefighters responded to a Thursday blaze at L. P. Pemberton’s newly built barn on 3rd Street. The flames spread to adjacent fences and outbuildings before two attack streams confined the fire. A horse handler, Herb Wilson, was injured but not fatally. The barn, uninsured, housed grain hay harness and tools valued around 500 dollars. This followed a prior loss at the ranch house. Five boys aided in extinguishing the fire and preventing further damage.
