Mail order firms called quack doctors of commerce
A pamphlet from Butler Brothers attacks mail order houses as parasitic, claiming they harm local markets and communities while praising local dealers who offer cash-based, legitimate commerce. The piece notes school children in La Jara and Bountiful contributing to a cruiser color service fund, lists local donors, and ends with a sale of work mules and wagons offered by Phillip Miller in La Jara Morgan.
