Alamosa Excursion Spurs Big Crowd and Races
Monday's Alamosa excursion drew 250 tickets sold as boosters from La Jara joined the Antonito and Romeo contingent, filling four coaches. Races included a quarter-mile dash won by N. M. Watkins and a prominent broncho busting contest, with several notable finishes and a $20 cash prize plus a town lot awarded to Clarence Hocker in the bucking contest.

The county commissioners allotted 175 to fund a creditable display of Conejos county products at the National Irrigation Congress in Albuquerque from Sept 29 to Oct 3. D. E. Newcomb of La Jara and F.
