Memorial Day Observance Slated in Kennewick Services Monday
Memorial Day arrangements were finalized with a parade from the American Legion hall to the cemetery and a 2:30 pm service at the M. E. Church. Mayor Tweedt urged closing businesses for part or all of Monday to honor fallen servicemen. Frank W. Carter, NP railroad agent, died in a car crash near the Catholic church and was mourned at the Kennewick M E Church.

Pioneer of 79 Passes Away at 63 in Idaho
P W Kittrell of Craigmont Idaho dies at 1:35 pm last Thursday at his brother in law W L Cochran’s home in the Valley. An early Idaho pioneer, he came west in November 1879. Born in London Tennessee June 29 1856 he was 63 years 11 months. He married Texie Cochran September 22 1875 with nine children seven living and twenty grandchildren.

Rates Hearings Set On Pacific Power In Pacific Northwest
The state public service commission schedules hearings to review the reasonableness of proposed electric and water rate increases by Pacific Power & Light. Kennewick hosts a 10:00 a.m. session June 17 at city hall for several communities. A water rates hearing for Kennewick and Pasco is set for 7:00 p.m. June 16 in Pasco. All customers and interested parties may attend and present evidence.
