About a thousand attended the dedicatory services with 600 700 seated in the morning at the new church built for 6000 dollars a pledge drive reached 15000 toward a 17600 deficit. First Car of Cherries Out from Kennewick
The Yakima Fruit Growers association will ship the first Kennewick Bing cherries tomorrow. The car holds 1180 boxes of 16 pounds at 2.50 per box f o b Kennewick. The Royal Anns and pie varieties are contracted to a cannery in Lewiston Idaho. The first Anns shipped yesterday. Rain and rapid growth slightly damaged the crop but overall outlook is favorable. Bing crop estimated at about fifteen carloads.

Mike Driscoll Dies in Sleep at Home in Pasco
Mike Driscoll died suddenly in his sleep at his Pasco home after a period of high blood pressure. He was 69, born in New Brunswick, a Kennewick pioneer, and worked as a dragline operator, a dairy man, a night policeman, and later for the N. P. railroad in Pasco. He is survived by his daughter Harriet, two sons Will of Wallula and Frank in Coos Bay, and two brothers in Idaho. Burial took place in the family plot in Walla Walla after services in the home.

Ted Broughton laid to rest in Kennewick service
Funeral services for G. E. Ted Broughton were held at a Christian church with Rev. E. S. Mitchell officiating. I O O F lodge members assisted with burial at River View Heights cemetery. Broughton, born August 16 1902 in Coneybrook North Dakota, died in the Columbia River drowning May 19. He lived in Washington varying locations including Tacoma Virginia and Kennewick.

State bids sought for Fallon bridge replacement and rock fill
The state highway department advertises bids this week for replacing the Fallon bridge over the Yakima with a new steel structure and for 500 cubic yards of crushed rock to be delivered in bunkers along the Inland Empire highway. Bunkers will be at the basalt quarry site south of the highway near the Hanford White Bluffs road intersection.
