Connell Beats Kennewick In High Scoring Loss

A. M. Haylett, chairman of a chamber committee, asked Pasco officials and county assessors to consider raising the Pasco Kennewick bridge toll to seventy five cents at Tuesday’s chamber meeting.

Property valuation up for two counties bridge dispute

The total valuation increased from 340000 to 400000 as a plan to address a proposed action moves forward. A committee chaired by Mr Haylett will meet bridge company officials Wednesday to learn their stance and later consult the two county boards of equalization for an acceptable solution.

Senator Gooding Calls for Equal Freight Rates West

Idaho Senator Frank R. Gooding told Spokane Chamber of Commerce that railroads must develop the interior west and offer square, nondiscriminatory freight rates. He toured northern Idaho, urged doubling lines to tidewater, and cited Utah coal, western timber, metals, oil, and hydro power as resources needing fair access to eastern markets. He noted the Gooding bill to curb discriminatory rates passed the Senate 54 to 23 but stalled in Congress.
