The contract set prices per ton with Chermak to decide cash on delivery and delivery options. Justice Holcomb writes the opinion noting Judge Hawkins had entered the judgment.
E. G. Anderson's Boy Scout troop collaborated with 4-H club girls and the relief committee to repair and distribute a large batch of games books and toys to needy children. Nearly 100 toys were fixed and 70 candy sacks prepared under the guidance of county club leader Mrs. Mary Davis with generous merchant support.
The Business Girls will hold their meeting in the club rooms Monday evening, January 4, in a scheduled gathering for members and guests interested in business matters and club activities.

Tentative plans were approved at a joint meeting of the fair board and port commissioners for two 30 by 60 foot frame warehouse buildings near the fair grounds. They will be leased to the fair association which will insure and bear depreciation costs. The use of the new buildings will enable further improvements to existing structures on the grounds.
The Kennewick bridge club will meet with Mrs. J H Siegfried on First Avenue Wednesday January 13 for a one o clock luncheon.
Residents of Hover and nearby lower valley organize a rabbit drive for New Year’s Day. Lieutenants Sidney Cochran and Carl Evans lead from Hover with Harry Hedington of Finley as captain. Chili con carne will be served at noon. rifles are not permitted.
The county engineer completed plans for Richland Up River road work and submitted them to the state highway department. Bids will be sought next month for six miles of grading on the Hanford Richland road and four and a half miles on the Richland Fruitvale road, part of the lateral system. Estimated costs are about 20000 for the upper section and 17000 for the lower, per H J Strandwold.
In Pasco the American Legion stages a midnight New Year show at Highlands club house with a minstrel act and a strong cast. Kennewick Kiwanis quartet and a chalk talk by a former Orpheum performer will appear. The show begins at 12 15.
A watch night service will be held at the Nazarene church beginning at 7 30. The first hour and a half focuses on children and juniors with the adult program starting at 9 00 featuring prayer talks readings music and special songs. You are invited to attend.
F. N. Sigman departed Tuesday for Wapato to take a position as a telegraph operator and begin work there.

Miss Bernadine Durdle and Miss Thelma Amon hosted a Christmas party on Tuesday at the Durdle residence in Kennewick. Guests played bridge and pinochle, with bridge honors awarded to Miss Kathleen Flesher and Gordon Rude and pinochle honors to Miss Edith Stratford. Five tables were in play.
The Kennewick Womans Club will gather Friday January 8 at 2 30 in Chamber of Commerce rooms. Mrs B B Buchanan, executive secretary of the Washington Tuberculosis association, will speak on Impressions of the Health Work Abroad and show handiwork from Poland Hungary and Jugslavia. The meeting is open to all.
Washington 4-H enrollment soared in 1931 with 8970 farm youth in 997 clubs, up 18 percent from 1930. The group earned over 81 thousand dollars from 10,939 projects valued at 191,958 dollars, led by Jed Hodge and Clarice Ekenred who won trips to Chicago's International Livestock Exposition.
