Mrs J M Nye Dies In Bryant Washington
Mrs J M Nye died at her Bryant Washington home Sunday after over a year of illness. Her son Clark Mauk, visiting at Mrs E Shanafelt’s in Kennewick, left to attend the funeral held Wednesday under Rebekah lodge auspices. The Nyes had lived on the Kennewick Highlands for years before moving recently.

Saluskin Dies Last Yakima Chief After Long Suffering
Saluskin, last chief of the Yakima Indians of the royal Owhi line, died after a long cancer battle. Surrounded by possessions he wished to take to the Happy Hunting Grounds, his body lies in state at his Parker Bottom home. He leaves a wife, three daughters, and two sons. A tribal leader will succeed in name only, as reservation changes eroded real authority.

Kennewick Gets Power Line Link from Spokane
Wm Voegtly Sr visited Port Nae and noted Pacific Power and Light completed a 65 mile high line from Pasco to Lind to interconnect with Washington Water Power. The route touches Kahlotus and runs east of Connell with a corrected 10 mile section upgraded to heavy wire. Power comes from Naches Priest Rapids and Walla hydro plants, plus steam plants in North Yakima.
