An auto driven by Victor Fahrenwald and a pickup driven by Dale Phillips collided at the corner of 6th Avenue and Auburn Street around 8 p.m. on Christmas Day. Fah renwald’s vehicle suffered about 400 dollars in damage while Phillips’ pickup had about 200 dollars in damage.
James Sturm F2/c on the USS Tarawa has served in Saipan for three weeks and expects to be back in Guam for Christmas. A Kennewick High School class of 46 graduate, he went into the Navy after graduation and is the son of Mr and Mrs J W Sturm of Park View Homes.
A Christmas Day house warming for Felix and wife near Kahlotus hosted the Aaw family. Van Hollebeke, formerly Gindie Blair, is H C Curry’s daughter. Forty family members—children grandchildren and in laws—attended with Mrs. Curry’s relatives.

Mrs. Hilda Mary Hermes is reported to be recovering from a fractured right arm and facial bruises after stepping into the side of a car on Kennewick Avenue Saturday night. Voters still elected him to office by a large majority, creating a vacancy to be filled by the remaining Benton County Commissioners at their January meeting. Four children of Mrs. Alice Woods died after a butane heater exhausted oxygen in their Kennewick home. The tragedy occurred after returning from the Grape Festival show and prompted a regional fund that reached nearly $5,000 for the bereaved family.

Vera B. Larsen of Kennewick, president of District 15, was appointed to the Washington State Nurses Association Board of Directors to fill a vacancy. She previously joined the Revision and Membership committee and reviewed district by laws. The note calls for nurses to be registered with the state Bureau of Agee and mentions a Lourdes Hospital meeting in Pasco at 7 30 p.m. with officer elections and refreshments.
