More than three hundred articles were auctioned in a winter Good Will sale held outdoors due to weather. Bids ran high as scrip lost value, with many attendees including children admitted free for a Little Orphan Annie show starring Milt Green. The largest bid remains unsettled as tallies continue.

Unemployed group led by N C Mann threatened a suit to block county tax settlements, claiming commissioners lacked legal authority to arbitrate taxes. The court tossed the case but an appeal is possible, delaying distribution by at least 30 days. County Commissioner H S Hughes said funds would ease warrant issues if settlement proceeds.
Christmas at the Churches features 11 a.m. Sunday services and an 7 30 p m evening choral pageant directed by Mrs T W Payne with a series of primary songs recitations and class exercises by Letha Allen Ira Lampson Lola Mae Harris Leo Campbell Dolores Shoemaker Joyce Peters Dorothy Paterson Edwin Campbell Freddie Thomp and others including The Dawn of Christmas Day sung by Mrs Meyer's class.

At 8 o clock a prelude titled The Shepherds Pageant Christmas will be presented under the direction of J Vinson superintendent of the Sunday school and his committees. Sunday school and church services follow at the regular hour with special Christmas music.

Three contracts were let by the state highway department yesterday on the North Bank road. Grading and surfacing of 2.2 miles between Museum and Maryhill in Klickitat county went to F. Wilder, Olympia, for 34909 dollars. Grading of 15.5 miles Carley to Paterson in Benton county went to Johnson Brothers Company, Klamath Falls, for 99954 dollars. A concrete reinforced bridge 265 feet long over the Klickitat river just west of Lyle in Klickitat county was awarded to Sam Orino, Spokane, for 22493 dollars.
