The 500 WK Club meeting devolved into holiday cheer with members joking and singing, as debates on street decorations stalled by cost. Pasco reportedly spent on decorations, while Richland kept costs down with simple lights. A community Santa will visit on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday to spread cheer.

Kennewick's Joe Lashock joins Pasco's Bill Foxley and Keith Lamb on an All-Seattle versus All-State football squad to face Seattle schools. The 24 selected players, from across Washington, include Toppenish's Larry Kramer and Pasco’s Neil Boyd as alternate. They will train three weeks before the fall game coached by John Henrich.
Kennewick Activians met Tuesday at the Cottage and denounced the city’s missing downtown Christmas decorations. President Charlie Fox said the lack reflects on community spirit and vowed Kennewick will be properly decorated for the holidays next year. The group also set an informal January 11 installation dinner dance at Park View Hall.

Kennewick and Pasco churches schedule Christmas events with special programs for children and music. The Nazarene church will present a three night program starting Monday ending at Finley church near Kennewick and Pasco Christian church at noon.
A Christmas tree festival and childrens program will be presented Sunday at 7 30. A festival service on Christmas day at 11 will feature special Christmas music. The sermon theme is Bridging the Great Gap. Sunday School at 9 45 this Sunday will rehearse for the Christmas program. At the 11 o clock service a sermon for the Fourth Sunday in Advent will be presented.
The combined choirs of Pasco and Kennewick Christian churches plan a cantata titled The Story of Christmas by Ellen Jane Lorenz using scripture and music. Imogene Spurgeon will read aloud, with Ray Ribak on violin.
After a meeting of agricultural and cannery men and chamber representatives, the Board of Regents at Washington State College approved steps to establish a food laboratory. The plan follows President Wilson Compton’s recommendations to create a station for investigations into ton and fruits and vegetables, with emphasis on freezing and by products utilization in the Eastern Washington area.
Kennewick Toastmasters featured Christmas themes with speaker Clarence Eakin describing the Christmas Tree origins and traditions. Bob Washburn acted as Toastmaster and Joe Heegen was topic master, while E S Black offered criticism. No meeting during holidays. next meet planned for January.
Sunday at 10:30 Good News Chapel will mark the Coming of Christ with song and story. All will participate in the program celebrating the nativity.
Cate gram sponsored by the entire community will be presented Sunday night December 22 at 7 30.
A Christmas pageant is planned for 8 pm at the home of Mrs. Cecil Anderson on Avenue A. Midnight Festival and Holy Communion will be observed at the church on Christmas Eve at 11 30. Christmas Day services of Holy Communion will be held at the Church of Our Saviour in Pasco.
On December twenty fourth at eight pm Bethlehem Lutheran will hold a children's service titled Christmas Blessings featuring the Christian Day School and Sunday School pupils under principal H C Lohrmann with M S Pohl at the organ. The program includes 40 techicolor slides and carols such as Lo How a Rose is Blooming Jute Silent Night and Welcome Holy Night. A second service at eleven am led by Pastor M C auth will present Gesu Bambino and Joy to the World with the Bethlehem chorus directed by Mr Lohrmann.
The Kennewick Methodist church will host a Christmas service with multiple music pieces and messages led by Rev. John B. Coan. Mrs. Theo Wade performs organ numbers, Gladys Wilder sings O Holy Night, and the choir and Beulah Ferguson will present sacred works including Montgomery and Watts Handel pieces.
