The BWP club gathered at Mrs. R. Q. Macmahon's for its annual meeting Monday evening. Frances Allen opened with an emblem presentation aided by Lena Mains Esther Hatch Margaret Hawkins and Bertha Fricke. Jenkin gave a vivid account of a Chicago trip as the group anticipated Christmas gifts and social time.
The Benton County Pomona Grange met at Vale in a 2:00 p.m. session presided by Master Gilbert Clodfelter with a tribute to Brother Knute Larson of Yale. Reports praised leadership, finances, and a push for a countywide waterway plan while approving a $500 county funding request from Inland Waterways Association funds.
Two hours of discussion about the new school contract ended with a motion to have the state director of public works grant a special permit. Taxpayers would be employed on the project rather than relief workers if allowed, with registration on December 24 at Gascoign & Fyfe for those who wish to work.

Frank Maupin presented Mrs Siegfried a poinsettia and several ladies hosted the event.

Superintendent Black states the holiday vacation will end January 2, not January 6 as previously announced. The change shortens the winter break for students and staff.
John Sullivan of Seattle was chosen as speaker for Benton County Republican Lincoln Day banquet. Committee members plan event arrangements while meeting attendees criticized the current administration for spending, platform departures, constitutional neglect, and unemployment. A poem opener challenged the White House and media coverage.
A. F. Brownell 73 a Kennewick resident was killed instantly when his car skidded on an icy highway west of Benton City. Brownell a former Union Pacific agent retired two years ago lived on a fifteen acre Highlands orchard and held Masonic and Eastern Star offices. Funeral services will be held Friday at Mueller parlors under Masonic auspices.

Minnie Harrsch and daughter Ruby with Ollie Matthews traveled to Spokane Tuesday and returned Thursday evening after attending a large crowd at the Eagle's temple dance.
Kennewick officials award the General contract to Standard Construction of Tacoma for the new school, with bids totaling 130242 including heating 26226 and electrical 4970. The project, funded by a $55,000 bond issue and a $56,464 federal aid grant, aims for occupancy by the fall term next year.
Kennewick city officials discussed purchasing the water system with pumps motors tanks and distribution for 85 000. Council debated funding options including bonds for a well rather than river water and dropped plans after legal review of gross receipts tax for utilities.

One new hire will coordinate with districts to explain water duties, with two horticulturists added. Regents member A Perham of Yakima supports the plan, noting growing needs in the valley and irrigation projects with Roza.
The court announces jury duty calls for twenty individuals from Richland Hanford and nearby areas. Names listed include Erickson Kleinknecht Vincent Clark Malchow Edwards Kershaw Ed wards Richmond Mann Muncey Web ber Schreiner Johnson Finley and Y 1.
Christmas greetings from Kennewick canning officials praise growers and the public as the plant marks its second year of operation. The cannery expanded with a new 8500 building, improved warehouse, and new equipment. asparagus production more than doubled since 1934, with deliveries from about 400 local growers. Spinach and tomato crops faced blight but optimism remains for 1936 as asparagus ships to the Northwest and California, boosting payrolls. Stockholders include local businesses and individuals such as A A Anderson, A T Belair, F F Beste, and many others.
About 50 members of the OES met Tuesday evening for a Christmas party and installation of officers. The event highlighted organizational leadership and community fellowship with new officers inducted by the group.
The Pasco women’s club hosted a program on what it means to be a club woman presented by Mrs. E J Brand. Mrs H W Withers spoke on Autobiography of Lincoln Steffins as part of the event.
