Aviation Cadet Leland Petitjean 22 the son of Louis Petitjean of Kennewick completes his primary flight training and is transferred to Corpus Christi Texas for advanced training. After three months he will receive Navy Wings and a commission as Ensign or Second Lieutenant. His elder brother Lieutenant Al Petitjean, naval cadet, graduated Kennewick High School in 1939 and played varsity football at the University of Washington.

Pomona Asks for Stabilizing of Livestock Prices
At the regular meeting Dec. 12 at Yale the Benton County Pomona grange honored state officers and past officers. The agenda included installing Benton County officers, conferring the Pomona degree, and transferring members. A livestock marketing proposal urged federal action to stabilize feeding costs and ensure profit, with endorsement of PUD condemnation and 1942 calendar alignment. Free Show for Kids at Roxy Santa Present

City Votes Cost Two Bucks Each in Election
Votes in the city election ran high with the cost per vote at two dollars. Officials reported nine votes in the first precinct after twelve hours of work and billed eighteen seventy five dollars. Across precincts the cost averaged about a dollar per vote for the election.

Citizens Protest Proposed PUD Condemnation
More than 20 Benton county citizens from Kennewick White Bluffs and Prosser met Benton county PUD commissioners in Prosser to urge postponing a proposed PUD sponsored condemnation suit for the duration of the war.
