Port District Project Revived for Kennewick Area
At a Commercial club meeting plans to revive the Kennewick Port district were discussed. Petitions to outline boundaries unchanged by design and to seek county commission approval in January were considered. The effort aims to organize river traffic needs surrounding Celilo canal and future boat service with three commissioner districts and a nonpaid board, subject to voter ratification and limits on indebtedness and taxes.

Ladies Aid Unite for Kennewick Relief Drive
The Wo man Relief Corps and the Daughters of the American Revolution organize to assess and meet charitable needs in Kennewick. A meeting formed a relief committee chaired by Mrs H A Davenpeck to collect clothing and food, with drop-off at Grant A Stewart’s home and a call for pick ups via S M Henderson. Volunteers will tailor clothing for children and report cases of poverty to Mrs Davenpeck or the groups.

Kennewick expected 2000 dollars from the general road and bridge fund for city streets but will receive 276.47 after a county decision. Prosser gets 221.06 and Richland 42.15. Bread and Beans for the Belgians aid shipped from Kennewick
Kennewick sent almost a ton and a half of food valued at over 100 dollars to Seattle for the Belgians relief. The shipment included 30 sacks of Big E flour and 1125 pounds of home grown beans enough for about 4500 to 5000 people for one day. Funds were raised by the Commercial club relief committee and individual subscriptions.

City stores will stay open Wednesday and Thursday evenings to aid late shoppers. All stores are expected to be closed Christmas Day.
Railway Discontinues Several Passenger Trains
The S P and S Railway will discontinue passenger service between Fallbridge and Portland starting Sunday December 20. Trains 5 and 8 and 55 and 56 are withdrawn from Sunday service. Trains 3 and 4 will stop on flag at Camas, Washougal and Grandalles. Through service from Kennewick to Portland or Spokane remains unaffected.
