Plowman to Celebrate Two Birthdays Next Sunday

Plowman marks three years at current location and ten years in restaurant business with a special menu and Carl Cady and his orchestra performing from five to eight in the afternoon. Local citizens plan to attend the dinner to show support for the Plowmans and their high class establishment. The couple opened a small eatery near Penny store a decade ago and once employed thirteen. today they employ seven regularly, remaining the town’s largest retail employer.

Headgates for Canal Ready for Use

Concrete and steel headgates for the Columbia canal are completed with four regular gates and an emergency gate. An instant 90 percent flow cutoff is achieved by a lever. A crew of sixty five performed ditch work but was reduced to forty under new allotment. The canal receives its annual cleanup.

Linns Celebrate Golden Wedding in East Kennewick

Mr and Mrs W A Linn celebrated their Golden Wedding Thanksgiving day at their East Kennewick home with a family dinner. Kennewick student wins Phi Kappa Phi scholarship

Arleen Taylor of Kennewick receives a Phi Kappa Phi scholarship certificate for scholastic honors during the 1982-83 school year per Dr. Paul P. Kies. The awards come from the national scholastic honorary and target first and second year students with at least 15 hours per semester. about 6.2 percent of freshmen and 6.9 percent of sophomores met the requirements.

Morton couple return home after weekend visit

Rev. and Mrs. W. N. Morton came back to Chelan Monday morning after a weekend with Mrs. Morton and their daughter Mrs. W. R. Wilder and family. Mrs. Morton had spent a month in Kennewick and recently underwent a major operation at the Pasco hospital.
