A heated debate centers on curbside parking blocking cross street views and forcing drivers to edge into crosswalks to see oncoming traffic.

A pinochle party is planned for December 18 and all are invited. Juvenile Grange may reorganize. a special meeting is set for December 3 for initiation. Finley hosts the Gavel meeting on December 11 with Kennewick Valley and Locust Grove programs.
City leaders approve preliminary steps for Avenue C street lighting as part of a broader plan to illuminate residential streets. Mayor J C Pratt cites sidewalk work and expanded patrols, with sidewalks finishing soon and Garber's addition joining the city after ordinance 490. James Walker appointed to Kennewick Recreation Commission to replace Bill Reid.
Saint Pauls Junior Guild will meet at the home of Mrs. Gene Spaulding on Wednesday December 10. Mrs. Spaulding, Mrs. Cecil Anderson and Mrs. A. J. Brantingham will host.
November building activity surged with $120,700 in construction authorized. Eleven homes, four private garages, remodels and commercial projects granted permits. New Kennewick Avenue store set at $32,500 and 18 North Auburn garage at $8,500. Fire activity included thirteen incidents with $815 in losses, six causing no damage.
Havana born Jorge Bolet, Naumberg award winner and Town Hall recitalist, appears in the Pasco Kennewick Concert series second program tonight at 8 30 in Kennewick. He studied at the Curtis Institute and toured Europe before returning to the United States to continue his acclaimed career.
The Schubert Club will present a Christmas concert on Sunday December 14 at 8 PM in the Methodist Church. Admission is free with a free will offering for the Seattle Children’s Orthopedic Hospital. The event marks the 15th anniversary of the club, founded in 1932, with rehearsals still in the English Lutheran Church basement.
A city wide fundraising drive begins today for the Community Chest led by Dennis Huntley. Benton County lists 13 patients at Blue Mountain Sanatorium supported by Seal Sale funds aiding care and rehabilitation. A Tuesday night board meeting at Mrs. J. C. Pratt’s home included Mrs. Earle Hathaway regional TB supervisor and Mrs. Sherman from Seattle TB Association.
Benton County ACA office force will be at Benton City community hall on December 12 from 9 30 am to 4 pm to help farmers report their compliance under the 1947 program. Officials hope many will report that day.
George Truman and Clifford Evans Jr. told Kennewick Airport Manager Tomm y Thompson they would visit Kennewick on a later tour after the Round the World Cub flyers sent a regretful letter. Weather near the coast pushed the leg east while the duo neared California. The note thanked Kennewick Chamber of Commerce for the invitation and explained delays and family commitments. The pilots planned to continue to Los Angeles to finish the coast to coast route and hinted at a future visit once the world flight concluded.
