The first home league basketball game will be played here on Friday evening December 10 with Top penish. The first game starts at 7 30 and the second at 8 30. A practice game is set for Saturday evening December 11 with Mac Hi at Milton. Season tickets will be valid for all home games.
The student conference for Yaki ma valley will be held in Yakima Saturday December 4. Eighteen students from Kennewick will attend to represent the school activities including the student body girls league Hi Y and other groups.

The city library is closed for the remodeling of the building. Librarians ask patrons to hold all books and magazines until reopening and no overcharges will be assessed on books due November 22 or thereafter.
The DeMolay boys plan a basement recreation room in the A. F. Brown building. They will install pool and ping pong tables, a rifle range, wrestling and boxing areas, doing all work and supplying materials. Mr Brown provides the quarters free.

Mr and Mrs C E Headley of East Kennewick mark their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a turkey dinner at Hotel Kennewick. Born in Indiana, they arrived in Kennewick in 1902 witnessing the town’s early growth and have since built a home and farmed strawberries while praising Kennewick climate for their health.
A Sunday evening ceremony at Bethlehem Lutheran church united Miss Esther Pasche and Albert Brockelman by candlelight. Rev. M. C. Kauth officiated with chrysanthemums and candelabra. attendees included Leona Pasche, Esther Doepke, and flower girls Marjorie Pasche and Sylvia Schmelzer. The couple will reside in Yakima.
The seniors present their royalty play The Whole Towns Talking in the high school auditorium Friday evening December 3 at 8 p.m.
Nearly eighty Rainbow Girls Masons Eastern Stars and mothers honored Miss Barbara Pfenning Grand Worthy Advisor of Washington at a six o clock banquet at the Masonic Hall. Eastern Stars served the meal. musical selections included Hazel Belle Poynter and Mrs Harry Love with Irma Waggoner on piano. Initiation services followed for Dorothy Doyle Kennewick and Carol Jacobs Finley. A social gathering closed the event. next meeting set for December 20.
Curran Chellis and E. G. Lape announce Kennewick Implement Co to open in the corner building now housing Winks Parts Co and Elton Thomason repair shop. Both men have prior local experience and the firm will offer repair parts and expert service with stock arriving soon.
Election of directors in two local irrigation districts set for Tuesday December 14. Guy Story’s Kennewick district term ends and Jim Johnston’s Columbia district term ends. Johnston declines another term after twenty years. A candidate for Kennewick is to be chosen, Ted Wat Story likely to run. Lower district candidacy not announced. Benton County Utility district polls open eight to eight on Saturday. A L Brockway seeks re election in Hanford.
The Christmas cheer committee asks for discarded usable toys in good condition for needy families. Toys should be left on the front porch of Mrs. Harry Linn at 530 Kennewick Avenue due to no time for repairs this year.
Joe Shula Jr completes a business management course at a Spokane college and returns home, just before Thanksgiving.
Kennewick chamber of commerce president A A Anderson outlined year ahead goals to boost community happiness prosperity and health. He urged broad membership including farmers and called for North Bank highway completion river development and Kennewick Avenue resurfacing. Retiring president P O Stone praised past work and pledged continued cooperation.
John Tweet of Kennewick is pledged to the Washington State College chapter of the American College Quill Club. He is a mechanical engineering junior. Members admit applicants who submit two manuscripts for approval by all club members. The group publishes stories and articles in Snark, a semi annual magazine.
The American Legion Auxiliary holds a regular meeting on Wednesday December 8 at 2 oclock in Odd Fellows hall with a toy drive for Veterans Hospital. An afternoon meeting precedes the public card party at 8 oclock the same day with pinochle and bridge and a door prize.
Miss Delma Heddington and Neil Anderson were married in Pasco on November 23. Judge Matt Driscoll performed the ceremony. The couple will reside on Mr. Andersons ranch in East Kennewick.
Mrs. A. T. Belair and her daughter Miss Lorene are spending the week visiting relatives in Yakima.
Kennewick businessmen announce a Saturday parade for county children featuring Mother Goose characters, two bands, a drum and bugle corps, miniature floats from local stores, and cutouts. The march starts at the school house, returns to Liberty theatre for a free program, with prizes for costumes and holiday in-store displays.
Senior High School reports a drop in the number of students on the honor roll across all three grades. Senior honorees include Peggy Burton Florence Peterson Minnie Thackara Alma Dean Wysong and Lorraine Smith honorable mention. Juniors Irma Waggoner Phillip Foraker Burke Hauschild Earl Johns Jeanne Long Grace Miller Ronald Pulliam honorable mention. The Parents Teachers Association will meet at the high school auditorium on Wednesday December 8 at 8 o'clock. After the business meeting a program will feature country costume presentations and Christmas traditions. Miss Alice Brake will speak on county nurses duties in public schools with a Q and A on first aid. The evening ends with a mixer and Christmas carols, followed by refreshments.
State egg inspector S. L. Shaw visited Kennewick to review local producers. He noted legislative changes benefiting egg producers and announced a price cut to 1.50 per thousand for 12 eggs seals along with a new size for half case shipments.
The Eagle lodge will hold a Christmas Charity Ball at the Highlands clubhouse on Wednesday evening December 8. Walt Hessler and his band will provide the music. Tickets on the Eagle's benefit cards will be accepted for this dance.
Reports say the Pasco air mail will be discontinued December 4 with no definite schedule for air mail service yet established.
