They depart for a three week honeymoon to British Columbia and Glacier National Park. The bride, daughter of Mrs. G. W. Sherk, has lived in Kennewick 22 years and served as M. E. church pianist for 20 years. Mrs. McDonald worked at Kennewick Bakery 10 years. Mr. McDonald has 25 years in local business and now owns the Red & White store. They will reside at 715 Ave. A.
Benton county clerks report low interest as five Democrats and six Republicans filed for precinct committeemen across 30 precincts. Only B. E. McGregor and Murray Nixon contested for Precinct No. 2 in Prosser, while several incumbents ran unopposed for district posts including commissioner from District No. 1.
In Battle Creek Michigan the 56th National Archery Championship drew 178 competitors. Gilman Keasey 27 of Corvallis Oregon set a record with 2995 points. Mrs Gladys Hammer a California schoolteacher won the women’s title with 1930 points. Curtis Hill of Dayton Ohio launched an arrow 616 yards while reclining and using his feet, tripling the average golfer’s drive.
Adolf Hitler entertained leading royal visitors to the Olympic games with a luncheon in Berlin. The German dictator hosted the prominent monarchists amid preparations for the games and diplomacy.
Kennewick plans a free community party on Saturday September 5 after store hours. Kers youth group will lead an amateur night with local talent and cash prizes, followed by a free street dance. Special committees have secured entertainment and promising numbers.

Benton County disbursed 3672.50 dollars in August Old Age Pensions to 188 elderly residents. Since July 1935 county pensions total 30070.00 with 407 applications and 205 grants. Statewide August payments reach 432086.50 and cumulative 3694550.00 since July 1935 for Washington old age pensions.

The Northwestern Natural Gas Co was ordered to install equipment at Benton county wells and begin exploration for a new gas supply within 30 days by the state Public Utilities Department.
