Benton Franklin Fair Set For Three Day Event
The Benton Franklin Fair, held at the Beir grounds near The Trees on the Columbia River, will run September 8 9 and 10 as a three day event under a cross river fair board. New buildings for community and agricultural exhibits will rise along the line of last year’s construction, with premiums up slightly especially in the pets class. The fair will include livestock horticultural and home economics displays plus 4 H club exhibits and a reassessed butter fat contest. Water Restored After Sixth Day Break at Badger Canyon

William Purdy and K L Day were injured Tuesday morning when their heavily loaded truck failed to negotiate a curve about 20 miles east of Spokane and struck a stone wall. Purdy suffered serious injuries including fractured ribs and facial cuts but was able to return home, while Day had multiple finger fractures, hand cuts, and possible back injuries. both are recovering at home.
