Grand Canyon of the Snake Road Prospect Draws Officials
A Wyoming inspection party led by Governor Kendrick explored the mouth of the Grand Canyon of the Snake, seeking a proposed auto road through the canyon. The party, eight autos and 43 people, evaluated routes from Afton to Etna, noted hot springs at Counts and discussed building a bridge for auto traffic and government funding. Local officials pushed for federal aid, highlighting regional benefits to Star Valley, Lincoln County, and Idaho outlets, with plans to mobilize committees and start petitions.
