Tax Comparisons Show Lincoln County Burdens Post-189
A comparative statement of Uinta and Lincoln counties for 1914 reveals dramatic shifts in valuations. Lincoln county cattle returns dropped by 10,482, jewelry valued under 1,500, and household furniture rose to 21,870, while Uinta shows higher totals in prior year. The assessment, prepared under County Assessor Geo. W. Tanner and James P. Rosenberg, suggests Lincoln’s tax burden under division would have remained heavy. E. S. Moore, U.S. internal revenue inspector, was in the city last week reporting findings.
