Road upgrades planned north of Kemmerer for safer travel

The community reports that efforts are under way to improve the old stage road north of Kemmerer and the Sublet road. Road Supervisor Celeste Inama is smoothing rough edges and a plan eliminates two dangerous railroad crossings with a canyon route cut through the east hill. Ranchers cite safety concerns, and the project is described as low cost with ongoing oversight.

Taft Post Office to be Discontinued After Sept. 15

L G Isenhart reports from the Fontonelle basin ranch that after September 15 the Taft post office will close. The office has been running about two years and Mrs Isenhart the late postmaster. Sublet is expected to become the nearest address for patrons.

Palmers Return From Colorado Trip After Heavy Rains

Mr and Mrs L L Palmer came back Saturday from Colorado with Mrs Palmer’s mother’s remains for burial at the old home. They toured eastern Kauss and Nebraska where Mr Palmer said Nebraska saw unprecedented rainfall, especially in Lincoln with eight inches in one night.

Frontier Lad Pay Ball Ends in Women Victory

An informal Sunday baseball game at the picnic grounds across the river pitted Frontier worried women against single ladies.
