Over two weeks a railroad related slaughter wiped out cattle and sheep holdings with names like John Bogers Brn Corlas Vic Johnson and P W Olson among the listed owners. Other items cover visits to county seats construction of the Sage Ditch Co project and residents building or visiting Sage tied to Beckwith and Fred Feller ranches.
Mr and Mrs Wm Enos arrived from the Daniel ranch Saturday evening. Ahead of the beef drive arriving in Opal yesterday and shipping today with Tom ONeil of Big Piney, the total shipment reaches 23 cattle cars. Enos plans to stay in the cattle industry though the mar ad has yet to find a satisfactory method for the cattlemen. Cattle now fetch high prices making the market puzzling to critics. Enos is a prosperous Green River Valley rancher expanding land and cattle holdings.
Mrs E P Philbrick of Granger came to Rock Springs and Thursday and on Friday morning she returned home with her son James who had been in the hospital there for three weeks. P Jared at the Rodeo da on September 6 had three ribs broken when a wild branch jumped on him. He was confined to the hospital in Elko for three weeks before returning home to Granger. Doctors later found a punctured lung from the broken rib and an operation was performed two weeks ago. he is now on the road to recovery.
