In Camberland Wyoming during the first week of November the Quaker Medicine Co. performed a two week stand and upon learning of an injured man’s plight offered sympathy and aid. Dr Edward White organized a special benefit show with all proceeds donated to Mr Potter, drawing loyal support from Cumberland citizens.

M Kemerer born in Pennsylvania in 1 took civil engineering path then joined Judge Leisenring as Chief Engineer of Lehigh Valley Railroad. He helped develop vast anthracite deposits in Pennsylvania and founded the Sandy Hun collieries, forming the Virginia Coal & Iron Co at Big Stone Gap West Virginia about 36 years ago. At Dorchester Virginia they run 500 coke ovens. He and associates built Mt Gonnaliest holdings later sold to United States Steel, reorganized into Carron Iron & Steel Co Perrysville Pennsylvania. Partnered with W B Whitney in coal ventures and J J Quealy in 1806 to exploit Wyoming coal fields. Kemmerer Coal Co operated at Brouder. Town of Kemmerer named for him, reflecting his upbuilding efforts. His wife, now deceased, was Judge Leisenring’s daughter. Children John and Gertrude. Despite age 62 he remains active and visits Wyoming annually, living at Mamoh Chunk Pennsylvania. Dignified, quiet, and respected by all who meet him.
