H E Parmenter of the Amer ican Express Company has word from Salt Lake City that the firm will handle charity shipments free of charge. Christmas gifts for children in war torn Europe should be marked Christmas gifts for the children of Europe and billed to Brooklyn New York. A full car of packages travels from Kemmerer on Train No 10, reflecting the district’s support for European relief effort.

Nearly a wreck on the O L near Donovan siding

A broken rail on the O. L. near Donovan siding between Opal and Granger last Thursday night nearly derailed No. 5 the fast mail which carried about 45 miles an hour. The rail shows a large flaw and two broken places. Pieces were hauled to Kemmerer depot. Rail manufactured by Illinois Steel Company.

Scottish Rite Masons to Meet in Cheyenne Dates

The Twenty-seventh reunion of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons will convene in Cheyenne in December with sessions on the 7th, 9th, and 10th. The thirty second degree will be conferred for one class of candidates, including several from Kemmerer, with A D Hoskins on the reception committee and plans for a big event.

Dispatchers Move to Telephonic Control in Kemmerer

Last Friday night at Kemmerer depot the Oregon Short Line switched dispatching from telegraph to telephone. Trains between Montpelier and Granger will be controlled from Pocatello with four Kemmerer men reassigned, including Chief Dispatcher L E Halbert who also serves on the city council.

FLOCKMASTERS MEET IN KEMMERER FOR WOOL GROWERS EVENT

A. D. Noblitt secretary treasurer of the Lincoln County Wool Growers association announces a gathering in Kemmerer on Friday and Saturday November 27 and 28. The event draws flock masters from southwestern Wyoming with a ball banquet and program featuring Forest Service speakers and local arrangements led by a volunteer committee alternating with Cokeville each year.

Stanley Brammer and Jim Wilkes returned last week from a major hunting expedition. They report no game taken but describe a big time, camping at the Bobby sawmill near Dell Creek in Wallace. They were accompanied by Dr. McDill, brother-in-law of Mr. Kramer, from Big Winey.

Steam Heating Project at Hamil Tow UY Progressing

Over the past week Wun. iMk has been busy installing heat pipes and components into the old Hamil tow Uy to be heated for winter. The steam supply comes from a large boiler in the basement, provided by Kemmerer Hardware and Furniture Company.
