Fiany Baiting Up dese H. Read was Saturday from Big Plavy, after visiting Opal to receive a large freight shipment. Mr. Medd, president of the Big Plavy Merentila Co, announces plans and progress for beer retail and stock development. Hilly Mills is preparing to move on with further work.
Linwood Land Company and partners including L. Trapp engaged in a mining claim near Red Coings, central Kean. The Boulder proposition offered up to 10 000 acres of good lands. only about 600 acres have been disposed of. The originator of the Houlder Land Company has long been tied to western upbuilding and development.
Frank Mau wool clip sells for a market topping price of 24 cents while Jesse Goodfellow buys multiple clips in East Lake City and Wyoming. Goodfellow, a veteran wool buyer for Elseman Bros, has secured thousands of pounds including the J H Phillipe and N P Nelson clips, noting most Wyoming wool contracts are already spoken for and top lots have been snapped up.
Hird and Bullager of Big Piney traveled to Opal last week to inspect a purchased sawmill apparatus to be set above the Riley ranch on Heaver Hill. They already own a large traction engine bought last year to draw plows and now prepare to use the mill year round amid strong lumber demand in the liney and nearby areas.
A mare and colt branded MNO on the left shoulder with double 16 below were reported missing from the left premises around May 15. A 610 reward is offered for their return by Thomas Potter of Frontier, Wyoming.
The Kemmerer schools plan a May 7th entertainment in the opera hours to close the academic year. Pupils present music and a variety of acts, with tickets at 50 cents for adults and free for Kemmerer students, proceeds aiding school improvements.
At Hig Piney May meeting the association approved a $500 claim for Joseph Chase Sr for convicting testimony against Wm. Barr who killed a steer and fled justice. An attorney contract with D. A. Preston of Rock Springs was authorized, an advisory board was named to consult forest supervisors, and James Mickelson was reelected president with John C. Budd as secretary treasurer.
Gunn held a municipal election on Tuesday with a single Citizens' ticket. The result names Tom Davies as mayor and H. E. Lewis, Glen Knox, T. Utley, and David Johnson as councilmen. The first regular council meeting is planned for the first Monday in June.
Preparations are complete for the Four State Fair at Ogden Utah replacing the Mig Fou County Fair. The event covers northern Utah two Nevada counties two Idaho counties and two Wyoming counties with gold medals and cash prizes for exhibitors. Manager William Glasmann will answer inquiries. The fair aims to showcase best local products in competition.
Conductor Frank W. Dice, longtime Cumberland branch leader from Kemmerer, was moved last week to the main line passenger service to operate a new run on the O. S. L. system. Dice is ill and widely known. his wife will visit Montana and Washington before joining him later. Harry Murdock replaces Dice on the Cumberland branch, bringing his family from Montpelier to Kemmerer. the Dices plan to settle in Pocatello after a relocation.
