Quealy heads to logging camp at the head of Hamefork on Saturday to oversee a major log drive for the Kemmerer Coal Company. The winter was favorable to choppers and this drive ranks as one of the big efforts, with Jay stepping in as master for the first time.

Wool buyers have waited in Southwestern Wyoming as prices rise from 143.46 to 161.6 cents per pound. Jimmie Jamieson of Upalla sold his clip last week at 19 cents, with many sales near Rock Springs. Over a million pounds reportedly sold, signaling a strong year and forecasts wool may reach 17 cents before month end.
