The annual school meeting of District No 12 was held at the school house. A special tax was voted to fund maintenance for the coming year. Eight of the eight schools voted in seven established months in Dry Piney. Phil Twichel was elected trustee by a large majority. There were 88 votes cast, showing strong district representation.
Last Thursday and Friday in Pinedale, six men Albert Hill David Hicks Ray Nipper Fred Stone Albert McNish and Fred Van Ripper sat civil service exams for forest service jobs. The tests included riding, packing and mounting tasks with a playful packing contest ending in Bert Hill defeating the editor on points. A letter from S L Spiber describes elk seen near Grow Centre and hopes for elk preservation, plus optimism for a big grain crop in Jackson Hole and restored mail service to Grow Centre.
