Hose Cart and Chemical Engine for the City

At a special Town Council meeting last Saturday evening a committee from the Volunteer Fire Department urged immediate purchase of a hose cart and chemical engine. With money raised by subscription and drives, the town will acquire the two apparatuses, with the city clerk ordered to secure them promptly. five boys will soon possess the new kit.

State Game Warden D C Newlin reports elk herds near Wyoming ranchlands fed with hay saved about 2000 animals from starvation. Ranchers scattered hay on snow, elk eagerly consumed it and began following feeders, prolonging the big game’s existence in a sparsely explored region.
