Kemmerer to Field Independent Baseball Plan
About twenty five residents met at the town hall to discuss Kemmerer’s coming baseball season. They backed resurfacing the infield repairing the grandstand and fences and favored voluntary work to curb costs. Officers were re elected and the board expanded to seven members. The meeting opposed joining any league preferring independent baseball with a prearranged schedule. A committee was formed to consult engineer H E Robinson on park resurfacing and plans.

Schools May Lose Royalties From Oil Transfers
Attorney General W L Walls ruled that the Sixteenth legislature act on oil and gas royalties to state schools is unconstitutional. Schools would lose a large part of their supporting and extension finances. A test suit to compel distribution will be brought against the state treasurer and heard by the state supreme court. Some attorneys expect the court to sustain the attorney general, keeping funds in a permanent fund. If reversed, timing may prevent affecting this year’s school financing.
