Board of Inquiry Finds Accident Unavoidable at Waterfall Wye
A Idaho Board of Inquiry convened in Kemmerer to investigate a derailment near Waterfall station on a 1912 trip. Conductor F Thor son and engineer Ray Welker led the train damaging a wheel with a hidden flaw from Huntington West Virginia. The panel, including J L Palmer C J Husted R H Hunter and Wim Farrell, concluded the mishap was unavoidable after reviewing broken wheel, derailed cars, and passing track switches.
