Last Wednesday night in response to a mayoral call a large Kemmerer group gathered at the yan te to discuss funds. A committee reported plans were being perfected to secure the necessary money when needed and secrecy surrounded the proceedings.
Cheyenne March 4 1919 a list of house bills approved by the governor and set to appear in the Session Laws. Items include authorizing a soldiers commission meeting the liquor tax after June 30 1919 creating insurance commissioner duties and tally sheets authorizing municipal band concerts and several tax and election related measures.
The Lincoln Idaho Oil Company reports a test well at Rear City has reached about 200 feet in depth. Repairs have been completed and the site is under observation as work continues.
A fragmented report from New York on March 8 notes Brest units advancing with 1502 heel sets and troops of the Fourth Division moving to support. The record cites the Third Battalion and mentions men of the 41st division maneuvering in the field.
Judge Arnold Olds presided a brief court session. The report lists several individuals attended or referenced, including G. Hardeman G. B. M. Hube and Jol ak Saldaiak. Asante was allowed to resume her maiden name.
A Cheyenne message reports the death of W. Smith a pioneer cattleman of the Green River valley. Born October 7 1846 he built the Mule Shoe and 67 ranches and was among the largest owners. Survived by wife son a niece and brothers his burial from Piney to Burlington Junction Missouri is noted.
Justice of the Peace Glasow presided as spectators packed the room and corridors over a whisky related case from Rupert Idaho. J H Parman arranged five cases of whisky moved to a local barber shop where alleged tampering with kerosene tops was planned. Naylin and Ollie claimed the goods, with attorney C E Melvin securing a separate trial for Naylin.
