Senator Clark Fights Parcel Post Weight Increase
Senator Clark told the senate that raising the parcel post limit to 100 pounds would harm western mail service and devastate postal finances. He cited two tons of beans and tons of flour moved under the lower rate, bed shipments on the Lander Dakota star route, and contractors pushed toward bankruptcy as evidence that postmaster general policies drain revenue while imposing cost on carriers and routes.
