Engineers Tour Pinedale to Inspect Green River Water Supply
John F. Richardson of the United States Reclamation Service and HM A True, chief engineer under the Carey act, visited Kemmerer and headed toward the upper Green River valley for a reconnaissance. They aim to assess acres irrigable and gather data on food water for a proposed dam near Linwood that could store water for 50 miles north, possibly creating a navigable lake near Green River City. The project seeks flood control and irrigation rights without diverting Wyoming waters, with state engineers studying implications for upper country ranchers.
