The seven year old daughter of tailor Chas Peterson nearly drowned last Sunday on the river near No 5. She fell into the water and was carried far downstream before passersby rescued her. She recovered with medical aid after being pulled from the water semi unconscious.

Erwin Beckwith a 59 year old ranchman living on the Manhead ranch near Sage was instantly killed by lightning last Friday while at work with his horse. He had worked in the region about 33 years and was well known and respected. His remains were brought to the city earlier this week by B H Embree and will be shipped to Ashtabula Ohio for burial after a brother arrives from the east.
The Elks Ladies announce another popular social dance next Saturday evening in the Lyceum. Music by the Kemmerer Orchestra and refreshments will be provided for all attendees.
