Lovell Sugar Company Buys State Land for Model Farms
Lealie Miller, inspector of state lands, visited Lovell Wyoming and sold a section of state land to the Big Horn Basin Sugar Company for 15 dollars an acre. The firm plans to split the land into three or four tracts, build model farms with buildings and roads, plant beets, and lease to tenants. The project aims to advertise the Lovell area as it grows ahead of the proposed sugar factory.

Pardoned After 18 Years for 1897 Uinta County Murder
Henry Edmundsen, sentenced to the state penitentiary in September 1897 for murder in Uinta county, was granted a pardon after serving 18 years and three months. A rancher from Big Piney, he killed Ricketts at the old Bob Tarter ranch after Ricketts courted Edmundsen’s stepdaughter on a public road. Edmundsen’s pardon followed renewed appeals in Ogden by old friends.
